Use of Reflexive Pronouns

Model Sentences

1. वह अपने आप इस पुस्तक को लेने आयेगा।                           He himself will come to take this book

2. उसने स्वयं यह काम किया है।                                                 She has done this work herself 

3. हम आपस में लड़ पड़े।                                                          We quarreled among ourselves 

4. मुझे अपने आप पर लज्जा आती है।                                           i am ashamed of myself

5. वे स्वयं ही शहर का चक्कर काट आये।                                    They went around the city themselves

6. उन्होंने इस अवसर से पूरा लाभ उठाया।                                   They availed themselves of the chance

Points to Remember

1. Personal Pronouns  के साथ  self  या  selves  लगाकर  Reflexive Pronoun  बनाया जाता है, 'Self' Singular  के साथ और  'Selves'  Plural  के साथ ; जैसे ;

He            से           himself                        I                   से                       myself

she           से           herself                        we                से                       ourselves

It               से           Itself                           They             से                       themselves

You           से           yourself                      one               से                       oneself

2. Reflexive Pronoun Subject  के ऊपर जोर डालने के आशय से लगाया जाता है।

3. कई क्रियाएँ ऐसी भी है, जिनके साथ  Reflexive Pronoun  का प्रयोग अवश्य होता है।  Enjoy,  avail  आदि ऐसी ही क्रियाएँ है।

Translate the following into English :

1. उसने यह घटना स्वयं ही बताई है।  2. मैं उसे स्टेशन पर छोड़ने गया।  3. वे दूसरो पर दोष लगाते है, जब कि वे स्वयं ही इस दोष के अपराधी है।  4. आपने स्वयं अपने लिए गलत रास्ता अपनाया है।  5. तुमने स्वयं ही अपने लिए कष्ट मोल लिया है।  6. यदि आप न भी आये तो हम स्वयं ही चले आयेंगे।  7. हम स्वयं ही आपके पास आना चाहते थे।  8. भगवान  उसकी सहायता करता है, जो अपनी सहायता स्वयं करते है।  9. हमने बाग़ में दिल खोलकर विश्राम किया।  10. तुम्हे स्वयं ही उससे बातचीत करने के लिए आना चाहिए था।
